The most recent action-packed title that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating action and mayhem with similar excitement, all while telling gripping, politically driven tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two visionaries whose work have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by introducing a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their constant confidence and assistance.”

I’m thrilled to work with Rob and present our mutual unconventional, ambitious approach to the screen.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
