President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Shot Guard Members to the White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Tragic Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across the state have been held in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told journalists. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Response

Attendees came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the individual that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that inspired people around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Policy Revisions

Officials have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident caused the government to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop issuing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
