Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Officers then discovered numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests show the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.
An important political figure stated the attack left him stunned and required to be resolved quickly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
